HERBAL TEA Tasting & Blending Workshop 1.25.26

Explore a variety of gentle medicinal herbs and create your own tea blends during this exploratory & interactive workshop. Sample 10+ botanicals individually and then create two custom tea blends with the herbs of your choosing.
This class will cover foundational herbal theory, including the energetics of the five flavors and their corresponding therapeutics. We will also discuss the basics of assembling herbal tea blends.
This class is designed for anyone interested in crafting herbal tea blends, whether you are completely new to the study of herbalism or are looking to build upon the knowledge you've already acquired.
We will be focusing on common & culinary herbs, but the concepts we discuss can be applied more broadly toward any herbs you choose to work with. The provided herbs will allow you to craft blends for digestion, sleep, and stress relief.
A handout will be provided, but feel free to bring a notebook to take additional notes!
This is an in-person workshop at our Mānoa studio, in a private residence off of Woodlawn Drive.
Address & arrival info will be sent after registration. Ample street parking is available, and we are a <5 minute walk (up a hill) from a #6 bus stop.

Workshops are led by Deanna Rose Ahigian, L.Ac & Dipl.Om, founder of Indigo Elixirs and licensed clinical herbalist. Deanna has spent the past 15+ years immersed in the study of botanical formulation, advanced herbal medicine, and holistic wellness. She holds a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is passionate about weaving together modern phytochemistry and ancestral wisdom.

This was a meaningful and memorable experience. I’ve been a fan of Indigo Elixirs since 2020, so getting to learn directly from Deanna in her beautiful Mānoa studio felt so special. The peaceful evening shared with other women was a deep dive into herbalism, aromatherapy and the art of handmade. My own handmade perfume is now a prized possession. Deanna’s expertise and joyful guidance added nuance and fun to every step.

Deanna is such a wealth of information, we learned an immense amount about the science and love that goes into botanicals. My daughter and I had a private session and we can't wait to schedule another one. We made our own balms with all of the information required to make more on our own time.
