I CHING & INCENSE 8.18 @ Moon Gate

$50.00 USD

Sunday, August 18th, 2024
6:30 - 8pm at Moon Gate | Honolulu

Join Dr. Diana Ho & I on the next full moon ~ Sunday, August 18th ~ for an intimate session of incense making and I Ching divination at this inaugural Lunar Harmony Gathering.

CLASS DETAILS

We will start off with an introduction to botanical incense making, a sensorially immersive & meditative art. Our palette will consist of Hawai'i grown aromatic ingredients, such as ‘Iliahi (Sandalwood) and Lokelani Rose, and Deanna will share the fundamentals of formulating incense from scratch as well as the therapeutic aspects of working with the plants in this format. Together we'll create a few different types of dough to choose from, and each attendee will be able to mold their own set of incense cones to take home.

Dr. Diana Ho will then lead a group reading of the ancient Chinese practice of I Ching divination, harnessing the collective power of community in seeking guidance and wisdom through the interpretation of hexagrams. The I Ching has been one of the most widely translated philosophical texts and is rooted in the laws of Yin & Yang opposing forces and the importance of balance and harmony in navigating life's changes and uncertainties. Ask a question you’ve been seeking guidance on and discover your own internal Sage.
