Join me for a journey through scent! We'll explore some of the world's most coveted botanical aromatics that have bewitched humans across the ages. Learn about how these plant aromas are extracted, and how they can benefit our emotional & physical wellbeing. Then weave the materials together into a one-of-a-kind perfume that reflects your personal tastes.

During this workshop, you'll get to play with the herbalist's personal collection of over 30 essential oils, resins & absolutes sourced from around the world. From familiar favorites like Rose, Jasmine & Sandalwood to exotic essences of Labdanum, Benzoin & Oakmoss, our broad botanical palette is sure to delight the senses.

BOOKING

Workshops take 1.5 - 2 hours and can be booked for the afternoon or early evening every day of the week.

CLASS DETAILS

All materials will be provided to make a 10ml roll-on vial of an oil blend that can be used as a perfume, beauty oil or topical medicinal. This includes locally grown unrefined oils that will serve as the base and a glass vessel.

We will be working exclusively with pure plant extracts; our collection of both beloved & rare aromatics provide a vast range to suit everyone's personal tastes.

This class is designed to be both interactive & informative, so you'll leave with a basic understanding of the topic in addition to your handcrafted blend.

LOCATION

Private workshops are held at the Indigo Elixirs apothecary in a private residence near Woodlawn Drive, Mānoa, Honolulu. Ample street parking is available and we are just a few minutes walk (up a small hill) from a #6 bus stop. Address & arrival info will be emailed after purchase.

INSTRUCTOR

Workshops are led by Deanna Rose Ahigian, L.Ac & Dipl.OM, the founder of Indigo Elixirs and licensed clinical herbalist. Deanna has spent over a decade immersed in botanical formulation & advanced herbal medicine, and is passionate about working with local flora to create formulations imbued with healing & beauty.

Special experience! Special memory!

My husband and I deeply enjoyed this class. It was something we both really connected over and walked away with a much greater appreciation for our gift of smell and the chance to learn and create something that uniquely expressed each one of us using rare and beautiful plant resins and absolutes! We both appreciated Deanna’s time and efforts to share her love on this matter with us. She deeply loves what she has learned herself and wants to share that with others and it shows!! Highly recommend this class! This will be one for your memory books.

Engaging, Insightful, and Comfortable Experience

We booked the Botanical Perfumery Private Workshop with Deanna. The workshop was an incredible experience. Deanna is passionate, patient, and knowledgable about her craft. She made the art of understanding and creating aromas accessible and super fun.

The studio space and location was also comfortable to explore and create scents in a comfortable and thoughtful environment.

The class made us grow a deeper appreciation for the art of aromas, botanical perfumery and herbalism. In addition, she guides through the entire process of making your personal scent.

If you curious about perfumery, herbalism, or a novel experience - I highly recommend Deanna's workshop. You will not be disappointed!

Unique and fun!

This workshop was a blast! I loved learning about all the different botanical extracts and smelling all of the things. It was a fun challenge to create your own personal scents by blending the materials provided. Deanna is super knowledgeable and helpful in the process. She explained things really clearly and was very engaging. It is such a cool activity for a date night or also with a group of friends! The value is great and now I have two different perfumes now that I adore. Highly recommend.

Exciting Workshop!

We had a wonderful time at the private botanical perfumery workshop! Deanna was passionate and explained thoroughly on how the oils are made and on scent building. There was a large variety of oils to smell and choose from to curate your scent. If you’re looking to learn and do something exciting, this will be the perfect date night or something fun to do with your friends! We would definitely do the workshop again.

Great, Intimate Class!
