Immerse your atmosphere in the warming, herbaceous aroma of Mugwort grown in the herbalist's garden. These natural incense cones are hand rolled by our team, and consist of only three botanical ingredients: Mugwort foliage, Japanese Makko powder (a pounded bark), and Big Island Patchouli hydrosol.

Mugwort has an ancient reputation as both a magical and medicinal herb, treasured for divination and healing alike. Old folk herbalism books speak at lengths about the affects of Mugwort's aroma on the dream world, and her ability to inspire dreams of lucid awareness and premonitions. In traditional Chinese medicine, Mugwort is used extensively in the form of moxa: the dried (and often aged) foliage of the plant is ground up into a fluffy mass and rolled into cigar-shaped wands or small cones to be burned near the body. The smoke ~ rich with volatile oils ~ provides warmth and promotes healthy circulation, and considered to be deeply healing.

A silver-backed plant with shape-shifting leaves that glow in the moonlight, Mugwort is a unique beauty that can often be found winding through wild spaces and along roadsides {especially in this herbalist's original home in the Northeast US}. The Mugwort leaves & flowers in these cones were grown in our Mānoa garden, then dried and ground in our apothecary.

To use, simply place the cone on an incense burner or heat proof dish and light the tip. With every inhale, invite Mugwort's healing, warming, and dream-igniting properties into your space.

The cones are quite potent ~ let them burn all the way through, or save for a few uses by smothering them out until they produce no more smoke and reigniting when you’re ready to use them again. Please never leave burning incense unattended and be sure to put them out fully.
